Mad Max made his first flight this evening. Before setting of Saturday to start his big adventure for real, we tour the local area here in Austin, TX. Mad Max wanted to checkout what it was like to fly and how the airplane was working. At first he was a little nervous because he had never flow in a small airplane before. But as soon as the wheels left the ground, his smile great bigger.
We stopped in Georgetown, TX to buy some cheap fuel that will get us most of the way to Oshkosh, WI this weekend. On our way into Georgetown, we simulated the Fisk Approach for Mad Max. He wanted to see what flying at 90kts and rocking your wings is like.
Welcome to the Mad Max Pilots group! We are going to work together and help out a very special young lady.https://www.facebook.com/alliesfriendsfoundation/photos/a.342404149288563.1073741827.265926543602991/503331683195808/?type=3
The way we intend to do this is perhaps a little unorthodox, and maybe even a little bit...mad (thus the group name), but I believe it will work.
In the comments below you will find a picture of a sock monkey. His name is Maximillion, or Max for short. Our goal is to send Max around the US and raise money to help Allie's family with expenses.
Here's how it works. Each pilot who agrees to fly Max to his next destination will donate $20 through PayPal to the Mad Max Fund. We will also leverage our Facebook and other social media to get our friends involved and making donations. If we can get local media outlets such as newspapers and television channels interested, that will help our cause.
IMPACT Ministries 360 will be helping us out by allowing us to use their website for a map of Max's journey. Fans will be able to see where he is at any given time, as well as see photos and videos uploaded by the pilots.
The campaign slogan will be "Help Max raise a million!"
